Our Story

"Welcome to the space for dreamers, outsiders, creatives, and shy weirdos, where our unique handmade jewelry represents your inner spirit unapologetically."

Hi, I am Carly! At Black Cat Wire Works, our journey began with a childhood passion for crafting magic wands from wire and beads on chopsticks at the age of 10. It was a whimsical start in Metro Vancouver, Canada, fuelled by a love for Harry Potter and the joy of sculpting something tangible and magical.

Life took its turns, leading me through different jobs in my adulthood, often leaving me feeling lost and like an "outsider in society." In 2022, during a disheartening job experience, I found my light again by reigniting my childhood passion – crafting jewelry by hand. I began selling my jewelry at Farmers Markets, and witnessing people being drawn to my creations ignited the confidence to continue creating and working for myself.

When someone wears my jewelry, it feels like I am witnessing my art being showcased in a gallery. For me, being a jewelry artisan isn't just about crafting pieces; it's about seeing others wear my creations as expressions of themselves. Helping people embrace their authenticity is what drives me to constantly evolve and explore new techniques and styles to offer my community unique, one-of-a-kind designs.

Black Cat Wire Works aims to embrace and celebrate everyone, creating a space – both online and offline – where being different is not just accepted but celebrated. Our goal is to build a community of authenticity and diversity.
